Madeira Evening

In the middle of winter we invite you - together with Joyce Summer - to a trip to sunny Madeira. We start with an aperitive, petiscos and short anecdotes from Joyce at the crackling fireplace. During the following dinner Joyce is going to read her second Madeira crime. Look forward to a triple enjoyment with an exciting story, delicious portuguese food and delicate wines from Alentejo, Dão and Douro. Together we bring the evening to a close while drinking a glas of port wine and the possibility to talk with Joye and let your book signed.

Comissário Avilas second case:
A storm comes up on the Atlantic island and a corpse of a tourist was washed up in the harbour of Funchal. Did the man really just underestimate the swollen sea? Comissário Avila doesn´t have a good feeling concerning this case, but he can´t take care of it: A romantic weekend with his wife in the beautiful alpine world from Madeira is due. But not only the fostering storm disturbs the idyll: Suddenly there is the corpse of a young women in the hotel pool. Cut off from the outside world Comissário Avila tries to find the murder - a race against time, because during the roaring storm the murder is already looking for his next victim - and that concerns Avila very personally.

Joyce Summer:
Joyce Summer lives her dream writing crimes, which play in sunny holiday destinations. She knows about politics and scheming sufficiently after working as a project manager in different banks and major corporations for years. It was easy for here to leave her old life behind and to chase murderers with paper and pen. The cases of the author from Hamburg don´t play in the cold North, but in warm and specially selected holiday regions, which she knows by herself through long visits. She loves the proximity to water - in her books she always chooses venues by the water or in real life going kayaking on the Alster or Elbe.
