A special kind of animal park

What awaits you:

Welcome to Tierpark Arche Warder, a unique place dedicated to the protection and conservation of rare and endangered domestic and farm animal breeds.

Here in Europe's largest zoo for rare domestic animal breeds, you will find over 1200 animals from 80 different species, including the robust Mangalitza pig, the majestic Poitou donkey and the charming Houtland sheep. Even the bronze turkey, which has become rare in modern agriculture, has found a home here. The aim of the zoo is to preserve the natural diversity of these breeds through breeding, education, research and networking. The animals do not live in cramped cages, but in spacious outdoor enclosures that extend over 40 hectares and offer them plenty of space to move around and explore.

As a visitor to the zoo, you can experience the animals up close and even stroke them. During your walk through the park in Westensee Nature Park, you can meet the ducks, geese, goats, cattle and sheep and discover their fascinating diversity. If you become particularly fond of a particular animal, you even have the opportunity to adopt it and actively contribute to the protection of its species.

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of the Arche Warder zoo and experience unforgettable encounters with rare domestic animal breeds. Visit us during your stay at the Seehotel Töpferhaus and discover the beauty and diversity of nature up close.

Getting around: Park your car in the parking lot and then criss-cross the park

Local's tip: If you've always wanted to listen to animal sounds under the stars in the wilderness, you can even spend the night in a rented tent at the Warder Ark

Tour combination: It's better not to take on too much, because you'll regret it in the end...
